Day Five: 8:43pm July 10th 2005 - I woke up to a gun shot and Chris yelling as loud as humanly possible, my ears are still ringing from it. After the shot went off my eyes opened to Jane standing a few feet away from Mr.Joe and Mrs. Blaire standing behind him with a snub-nose revolver pointed at Jane. But Jane, she didn't look normal, and her "normal" look for me was her being viciously sick. She was shaking uncontrollably, her skin was grey like every pigment of color had left her body. The only color left was this neon yellow from the pus that was leaking out of her ears. Jane started to run towards Mr. Joe and that's when Mrs. Blaire fired a second shot into Jane's chest. I can't speak to what happened before the first shot, so I can only tell the others stories. Chris said he woke up to Jane violently rolling around in their tent like she was having a seizure or something. He got out of the tent to give her some space, you're not supposed to move people having seizures I guess. He said she stopped for a few seconds and then very slowly, as if she wasn't really in control of her body, came out of the tent too. Joe stepped in to tell his part of the story. "She was just standing there, but once I called her name to see if she was alright it was like she was a changed person. She ran at me, knocking me to the ground. I thought she was trying to kill me!" Apparently that's when Mrs. Blaire pushed Jane back and fired the first shot. But not before Jane was able to make a few really deep scratches on Mr. Joes neck. Her nails were long, none of us have really been in the state of mind to worry about hygiene.
We're all in the office of the Athletic Store trying to figure out what happened. Luckily Kate and her baby were in here already and didn't see any of it. Mrs. Blaire is pretty shaken up...and Chris, well you can't even talk to Chris right now. He stayed next to her body for hours it seemed like. None of us could stand to be in that room after that happened. There is no way her infection would have even let her stand up, much less attack someone. What the fuck is going on. It's all fucked. Completely fucked.
